Thanks for showing interest in BASS! We are an organization of actuarial focused students dedicated to career development and job networking. While our primary mission is to build the actuarial opportunities and program here at Belmont, we also love to have fun! Below are details about what we do and ways to get involved. Overview of the year Speaker Series: We will be bringing in several speakers to talk about the actuarial profession, test taking strategies, and current work. CASE Conference: BASS will be traveling to Atlanta, GA to attend the annual Casualty Actuaries of the South East conference. Consider joining us for career networking, speakers currently in the field, and a taste of the actuarial profession. Fall Fundraiser: Like to swing dance? Come dance with us this October! Even if you have two left feet, our expert dance instructor (and BASS officer) Mary Yang will be giving group lessons during the event. Cram Jam! : As always, BASS will be offering a free tutoring night before December finals for students in math and finance classes. We would love to have you come tutor with us! This is a great way to outreach into Belmont's community and get Community Service convo credit. P/1 Practice Exams - If you are studying for the first actuarial exam, P/1, BASS is proctoring practice tests on Monday nights. Watch for weekly sign up sheets outside the math office door.
BASS is a very low commitment organization. Unless you choose to be part of the leadership team, membership means coming to events that interest you. So your involvement is what you make of it!
Questions, comments, concerns, (or any good jokes?) e-mail bass@pop.belmont.edu. We hope you have a great semester and look forward to seeing you soon!
